The Meadows Canine Camp specializes in superior lodging, dog care and manners and offers State of the Art Training and consultations in a unique setting that is undeniably every dog's dream. We created a safe and fun environment for people and dogs on three sprawling acres, where your dog can romp with friends, explore the grounds or lounge at the Pooches Pool. It's no mystery that dogs love the day and night here. Parents love The Meadows Canine Camp too; they know while they are unavailable their fur children are happier and healthier because of the many benefits of Camp.
Owner, Heidi Hindley was raised in Sonoma County. After moving back from LA, Heidi noticed many changes to our countryside and wanted to preserve a place for dogs with that, "Country feeling under their steps and lots of fresh air."
Heidi being very involved in the Sonoma County community over the years with dogs, livestock and horses, has listened to the community concerns for good dog-care, for years. So, with her own 3 dogs in tow, Heidi purchased a 3 + acres and designed a doggy resort. Heidi designed the west side with separated meadows and a swimming pool, a small dog play ground with water play, connected to the more private sides and several cozy places for dogs to take breaks on fresh green grass by the pool, play Frisbee, ball or simple agility.
The grounds are separated into secure fenced areas for tiny, small, medium and large dogs. The Meadows also has a lounge area for older and rehabilitating dogs where they can be entertained by more mellow interactions.
All of The Meadows property has adjoining gates, just in case a large dog wants to play with a medium dog or any variable in between.
Some dogs enjoy the perfect temperature in ground pool, while others are splashing in smaller pools or even others are entertained by just rolling around. The large lawn area surrounding the pool is fenced and gated. "We hang out here a lot", says Heidi. "And, yes we do get in the year-round warm pool with dogs."
This is a very thought out experience for each and every dog. Each and every dog gets a variety of areas and experiences to explore. Statistics have shown dogs have less boredom and stress with variety. Stimulated with variety and fresh air, add play and a little relaxation and we have a wonderful combination for a healthy dog.
Heidi is well aware of the busy lives in Sonoma County; along with pet owners visiting out of town family. Visitors also need good care for their pets. The Meadows is here for you and your pet instead of leaving your dog alone, during the day. The Meadows offers a healthy, stimulating and restful experience; a fun alternative from inside your home or yard. "Your pet will love it here and we will love your pet."
Pets here have the advantage of romping, playing and running outside as much as they need or want on varied surfaces and real grass. The Meadows has experienced that from small to large, dogs need this kind of space to be able to run with the feeling of, "I'M FREE!" and burn off daily stress and stored energy. The pool is always available with your pets own private lifeguard. So, come romp, roll and have lots of swim play.
Heidi says, "We are animal people too, and we understand the bond between you and your pet."
